The band that we all know and love, fronted by the one and only, the goddess that is Amy Lee. Evanescence has released a brand new single titled "The Game is Over" from their brand new upcoming album "The Bitter Truth" which will be released later this year.
The new single throws us back to the early 2000's when Evanescence where on absolute fire with each album that they released. From their debut album "Origin" releasing in 2000 featuring tracks such as My Immortal & Imaginary, to 2003's critically acclaimed album "Fallen" which featured the hit tracks Bring Me To Life, Going Under, Tourniquet, Everybody Fool and "My Immortal" making another appearance.
2006's "The Open Door" featuring "Sweet Sacrifice", "Call Me When You're Sober" and "Lithium". 2011's self titled album which features hit "What You Want", truly proved that Evanescence was a storm to be reckoned with.
When the band released their 2017 album "Synthesis" which was an filled with tracks from both Evanescence & Amy Lee's music careers re-recorded with an orchestra & electronic elements. Tracks such as "Bring Me To Life", "My Immortal" "Lithium" as well as "Overture" which was written for the album.
It truly showed that Evanescence can be anything it wants to be, and showed the true power of Amy Lee's voice and the extreme lengths that the bands music can be taken to.
Now, in 2020, Evanescence are back with fire and are ready to re-take the throne of which they once where crowned upon with their new album "The Bitter Truth".
This morning, Evanescence released their first single from the new album "The Game Is Over", and this is our review:
From the get go, the track immediately takes us back in time. With Amy's incredible talent and the true Evanescence sound bringing it to life (did you get the pun?).
Listening to this track honestly reminded me slightly of "Call Me When You're Sober", slightly similar vibes in the way it sounds & flows. It doesn't quite hold that sound when you hear it, you know it's Evanescence, but we can already tell that this new album is going to blow us all away, and knowing the true talents of the band, they'll do exactly that. We're all craving it, and they'll make sure to deliver.
This year our prayers have been answered by the one and only Dio. With the return of My Chemical Romance, Evanescence & Motorhead, it's almost like the Rock & Metal scene is being reborn into something stronger, and despite the worlds current situation, 2021 will be the year we will rock harder than we've ever rocked before.
"Evanescence is a band that just keeps on giving, with truly incredible artists, come truly incredible music" - Rock Lifestyle UK
