Brazilian Progressive Metal Band, Freaky Jelly, dropped a brand new single on Tuesday 1st September 2020 titled "Resilience" from their upcoming album which is being released through Rockshots Records.
What are our thoughts on "Resilience"?
The new single is decent, it's perfectly put together & they've tied in all their influences from the likes of Dream Theater, Opeth, Haken, Rush & Pain of Salvation. The backing track itself sounds influenced by Pain Salvations single "Accelerator" which was also released earlier this year.
The Vocalist, Ricardo DeStefano has an incredible voice, ranging from high to low & fits the music perfectly. He has so much potential as a vocalist & we're sure he will show it off in their brand new album.
As much as we enjoyed this single, we wouldn't say it's the best Progressive Metal track that we've heard, but being that this is apart of their second album and their debut album is only in 2017, Freaky Jelly is very close to mastering their craft. Also remembering this is only the first track from the new album, of which we are very much looking forward to.
Progressive Metal is a very difficult genre to master & this track itself is brilliant in its own right & shows the determination of the band. To master a genre like this, it takes time & comparing this track to their debut album, they've definitely improved & know exactly what they want, and we have no doubt the new album will showcase their hard work & determination.
Overall, Freaky Jelly has done a superb job in creating this single. It's unique, it stands out & is one that many of their own & new fans will enjoy.
"Freaky Jelly is ready to get freaky & showcase their true talents with their upcoming brand new album. Are you ready?"
