Austin, Texas duo, Black Pistol Fire are set to release their new album "Look Alive" on 29th January 2021 via Black Hill Records.
Originally from Toronto, Vocalist/Guitarist Kevin McKeown & Drummer/Bass synth player Eric Owen have spent the majority of their career building a dedicated fanbase and fine tuning their incredible sound.
Over the last year the duo have spent the last year releasing a handful of singles that are set to be featured on their upcoming album "Look Alive" which is set for release on 29th January 2021. The album has been mixed by some of the best people in the music industry, including:
Jacob Sciba (Co-Producer/Engineer, who is known for his work with Gary Clark Jr, Gov't Mule and Warren Haynes) and Mixer Vance Powell (known for his work with the White Stripes, Raconteurs & Chris Stapleton).
The new album reflects the duo's listening habits and influences that range from Chuck Berry to Nirvana and Artic Monkeys to G-Funk.
Kevin McKeown spoke about the new album: "When we first started out a decade ago, I had one guitar and one guitar pedal, and Eric had his drums and a green Dodge Neon - that was it. So, experimentation was just not an option."
Since then it has been noted that McKeowns pedal collection has grown impressively, allowing him to choose from a range of sounds, whilst Owen has grown his acoustic kit adding a bass synth & electronic drums to allow the duo to create some even more incredible music.
Kevin was asked why they chose the name 'Look Alive': "It just seemed to tie everything together as far as where the songs are coming from lyrically and thematically because a lot of it seems pretty dark. But also, it's like you're pushing through that darkness. It's crazy. A lot of these songs, people are saying they really ring true to what’s going on in our world right now. But in terms of timing, there’s something about it that seems to be hitting the nail on the head.”
So, make sure to set the date, 29th January 2021, BPF will release their brand new album "Look Alive", so you better do just that. LOOK ALIVE!
