The legendary Canadian Rock band, Nickelback have dropped a brand new cover song today, originally by The Charles Daniels Band in 1998 titled "The Devil Went Down To Georgia".
This new cover also features Dave Martone who is a Canadian "Fusion" guitarist & a record producer.
What are our thoughts about Nickelback's rendition of "The Devil Went Down To Georgia"?:
Nickelback's cover of The Devil Went Down To Georgia is decent cover, they've put their own unique sound onto the track and have given it a heavy metal vibe compared to the original.
However, we do have to say we do prefer the original, The Charles Daniels Band version is a tough one to beat, but Nickelback have done it justice and have once more made it a song that we all can rock out to.
I don't think I've ever headbanged to The Devil Went Down To Georgia, but Nickelbacks version definitely had my head bopping. The guitarist was wicked, really made those already unique notes sound even more incredible.
The music video itself was an excellent touch, reminded us of Guitar Hero III which is what the original song featured on when the devil played against the players.
Overall, it's a decent cover, but as I said before I much prefer the original. Despite that though, I still very much enjoyed it and will be listening again.
"The Canadian rockers are back, this time putting there own twist on a classic rock n roll hit, and making metal lovers fall in love with it".
