Breaking News Coronavirus Reading and Leeds

It has been reported by Leeds-Live, an official news website in Leeds, that Leeds Festival 2020 which is apart of Reading Festival, has been cancelled due to the Coronavirus pandemic.

The festival was set to have Rock giants, Rage Against The Machine as well as leading British Grime artist, Stormzy and Liam Gallagher, former Oasis front man.

The news site reported that Braham MP, Alec Shelbrooke, has said that Leeds Festival 2020 will not be going ahead due to the Coronavirus Pandemic. This comes long after Glastonbury & Download Festival UK have announced their festivals will not be taking place this year & Festival Republic are still yet to make a statement about the festival not going ahead, in fact, tickets are still available to purchase and have been so throughout the lock down despite reports of the possibility of the pandemic lasting throughout the year.

According to Leeds Live, Festival Republic have claimed "no decision has been made yet and it has not taken the decision to cancel the festival as it stands". This is despite the current Pandemic and the local MP Alec Shelbrooke stating the festival will not take place this year.

*UPDATE* 12th may 2020 (19.32)

Festival Republic have now officially announced Reading & Leeds Festival will no longer be taking place this year.

 The 2020 Line Up:

Many attendee's & fans alike are confused as to why Festival Republic are still continuing to say their festivals are going ahead despite the pandemic, especially since the MP for Leeds has already noted that the festival will NOT be going ahead.

The festival has a capacity of over 100,000 attendee's and each year around that figure have attended. There is no way the Government will still allow the festivals to take place.

We will keep this article updated once more information has been revealed.
