Today is a sad day as Legendary Cream Drummer Ginger Baker has been pronounced dead at the age of 80 years old.

Ginger Baker was one of the original founding members of the band 'Cream' which formed in 1966 with Jack Bruce and legendary guitarist Eric Clapton.
The original line up of original members where together until 1968 when the band officially announced that Cream was breaking up. It wasn't until 1993 and 2005 that Cream would reform.

Rock radio station 'Planet Rock' stated that Ginger Baker will forever be known as one of the most innovative drummers in Rock.
Baker is also known as one of the first musicians to be included in a 'Supergroup' which was first formed in 1969 after Creams break up in 1966. The super group consisted of Steve Winwood, Eric Clapton, Ric Grech & Ginger Baker and was known as 'Blind Faith'. 1 Year later Baker would go onto form fusion group 'Ginger Bakers Airforce'
Ginger also set up his very own recording studio in Lagos (1970), which is also noted to be the place where Paul McCartney and Wings recorded Band On The Run.
After finally being able to recover from his heroin addiction, Ginger Baker joined Hawkwind after playing for the band as a session musician on the album 'Levitation'.
It wouldn't be until 2013 where Ginger would form another group, this time being in the Jazz Genre named 'Ginger Baker Jazz Confusion' which included band members Pee Wee Eelis, Alec Dankworth and Abass Dodoo. In 2014 Baker would release his first solo album in six years titled 'Why'.
Sadly, in February 2016, the legendary drummer announced that he had been diagnosed with serious heart problems and had to cancel all future concerts.
The Rolling Stone reported on this and stated that Baker released a statement on his blog "Just seen Doctor.... big shock .... no more gigs for this old drummer.... everything is off."
Baker then had a heart operation in July 2016 and was reported to be recovering.
However, on 25th September 2019 it was revealed by his family that he was critically ill in hospital and requested that fans would keep him in their prayers.
Today, we are sad to say that Ginger Baker has passed away on October 6th 2019 at the age of 80.
